Mouzakitis Yannis

Yannis Mouzakitis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Administration of the International Hellenic University (IHU). His field of expertise encompasses Environmental Management – Circular Economy and Sustainability Transitions. Since 2015, he has also been Adjunct Faculty at the Hellenic Open University for the Business Administration and the Public Administration program.

He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Patras and possesses 15 years (2009–2024) of teaching (at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels) and research experience at higher education institutions in Greece (University of Patras, Agricultural University of Athens, University of the Peloponnese, University of Thessaly) and abroad (Erasmus University Rotterdam). He has been involved in various research, educational, and development programs (Erasmus+, Leonardo, Interreg, Green Fund, NSRF framework) and serves as an evaluator for research proposals at the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.).

His research focuses on investigating environmental challenges from a management science perspective, emphasizing areas such as circular (bio)economy, industrial symbiosis, sustainable transitions, green supply chains and grassroots innovations. He has served as a Guest Editor for the journal Sustainability (MDPI) and acts as a reviewer for several international scientific journals. Additionally, he has undertaken the scientific editing for the Greek edition of the textbook Environmental Management published by Oxford University Press.

Beyond his academic activities, he is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) and has worked as a consultant mechanical engineer. He is also a co-founder of the non-profit organization (NPO) Arcadia, which focuses on innovative development studies that combine community participation in design with the preservation of cultural and environmental identity.
